McKenzie river trail

 26 mile trail along that follows the McKenzie River. There are many access points along the trail! You'll be sure to see many fellow hikers, mountain bikers along the way and don't forget to look out on the river for rafters floating by.

Blue Pool (Tamolitch Falls)

A popular trail along the McKenzie River Trail. Be prepared for a 5 mile round trip and moderate hike. Then come to MGS and buy some blue pool souvenirs- we have local blue pool candles and stickers!

Sahalie Falls 

There are 2 quick assessable  viewing areas, one at Sahalie Falls and one at Koosah Falls. There is also a 3 mile waterfall loop trail that you can access from either parking lot and viewing areas. With Sahalie Falls being just shy of 90 ft and Koosah being an impressive 75 these are must sees!

Seasonally open from June to November. There are many hikes along this 36 mile scenic highway that takes you from the McKenzie valley to Sisters Oregon.  Drive slow and watch for bikers (we share the road) and pull over often for the scenic views!

High Country Expedition 

Local outfitter that offers seasonal whitewater rafting. They have the options of a morning half day or afternoon half day which is a scenic adventurous 14 mile stretch. Or a full day trip that is a 22 mile stretch and has lunch included! Interested in becoming a raft guide, High Country also teaches guide school and river saftey workshops yearly.

Horse Creek Lodge

A local outfitter that offers 3 hour long whitewater rafting trips twice a day as well as, a full day 6 hour excursion with lunch included. This outfitter also offers bike shuttles. Their services include: The McKenzie River Trail, The Olallie Trail, The O'Leary Trail, and King Castle. They also offer hiking shuttles. They are very informative and helpful so if you have questions about the best trail for your desired experience or skill level give them a ring! They also offer top tier mountain bike rentals- so don't fret if you didn't bring yours, you can still join in on the fun.

helfrich outfitters

An family run outfitter run since 1922 out of Eugene Oregon, Helfrich offers fishing Drift Boat tours of the McKenzie River April - October. The boat is pre-stocked with all the fishing gear that is needed, and a knowledgable guide and lunch are included.

hot springs 

​

Belknap 

A natural hot springs located at Belknap Resort. The springs rest on the edge of the McKenzie River and usually sit around 100~102 degrees. They are open year round and reservations are not necessary. For more information click here. e

 

Cougar Hot Springs (Terwilliger)

Our favorite local all natural, entirely outdoors clothing optional hot springs. Cougar hot springs offers you 4 soaking tubs that range from 110 degrees to 85 degrees. These pools are accessible from sunrise to sunset via a 1/4 mile easy trail. Dogs are not welcome. For more information click here.
